Princess Laurentien presents Terberg Group with Family Businesses Award
On April 12th Terberg Group was announced 2017 Dutch Family Business of the Year. The prestigious award, founded by billionaire and entrepreneur John Fentener van Vlissingen, was presented to Terberg’s CEO, George Terberg, by Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien. Terberg manufactures trailers for container transport in port areas and railway yards.
Fentener van Vlissingen started the annual Family Business competition in 2012 in order to emphasize the importance of family-owned companies for the Dutch economy. According to the jury, Terberg Group excels in innovation. The company is open to change and manages to continue its growth by constantly renewing and rationalizing its production methods. The jury added that Terberg Group highly values its employees, resulting in strong commitment and a positive atmosphere.
Blacksmith turned global company
Terberg Group employs approximately 1,000 people and realized an annual turnover of € 485 million in 2015 with a net profit of € 32 million. The company was founded in 1869 as a blacksmith’s forge. Today its activities cover eleven different countries.
